Wingdings 2

Using the Wingdings 2 Converter

Use this page to convert strings containing numbered marks and hand symbols, or to inspect what a copied symbol can recover. Microsoft’s Wingdings family reference lists Wingdings 2 as one of three styles in the family; the Unicode output tested below comes from this site's own approximation table.

Reproduce the Test

  1. Keep Wingdings 2 selected and Emojis on. Type a sample exactly as shown, including letter case.
  2. Select Copy symbols and paste into a plain-text field. Compare the characters with the output column above.
  3. Press ⇄ to decode the symbols. Check the reverse result and any candidate-character warning.

With Emojis off, the browser previews the original text using an installed font. Copy text copies characters without that styling. For a document, apply the same font at the destination. See the font-preview and clipboard test for a worked example.

A successful reversal does not establish compatibility with every app. These tests cover one Windows browser. For an unknown source, use the reading guide to distinguish styled text, Unicode and images.

Questions Beyond the Examples

Can I decode a screenshot here?

This converter accepts text, not image pixels. Match the image to a character chart first, preserving uncertain keys rather than guessing.

Does a converted message hide sensitive information safely?

No. This is character substitution, not encryption. Anyone with the corresponding map may be able to read the message.
