Using the Wingdings 3 Converter
Use the lowercase-arrow example below to create a short directional sequence, then compare it with the uppercase collision example. Microsoft’s Wingdings family reference documents the family’s arrow designs and three styles. The portable arrows on this page are this site's Unicode choices, not a complete reproduction of the font.

Reproduce the Test
- Keep Wingdings 3 selected and Emojis on. Type a sample exactly as shown, including letter case.
- Select Copy symbols and paste into a plain-text field. Compare the characters with the output column above.
- Press ⇄ to decode the symbols. Check the reverse result and any candidate-character warning.
With Emojis off, the browser previews the original text using an installed font. Copy text copies characters without that styling. For a document, apply the same font at the destination. See the font-preview and clipboard test for a worked example.
A successful reversal does not establish compatibility with every app. These tests cover one Windows browser. For an unknown source, use the reading guide to distinguish styled text, Unicode and images.
Questions Beyond the Examples
Can I mix Wingdings 3 arrows with symbols from other fonts?
You can combine copied Unicode characters as text, but this decoder uses one selected font map at a time. Decode each known-font segment separately.
Can I decode a photographed arrow sign?
Not directly: the tool does not recognize images, and a generic arrow is not proof of Wingdings 3. Identify the source before using a keyboard map.
